Gold & Emerald

Gold & Emerald

Gold & Emerald is an exhibition dedicated to two colors that have remained closely connected throughout the history of art. Gold has long been associated with light, value, and achievement, while green is linked to nature, growth, and renewal. Each color has its own character, yet together they create a combination that feels both rich and balanced. This exhibition welcomes works that explore either of these colors individually or bring them together in a single composition.

We welcome artwork in any medium where gold, green, or their combination plays an important role. One color may dominate the work, or both may appear in balance, depending on the artist's idea. Representational, abstract, traditional, and experimental approaches are all welcome.

Amara

Olga Tkachova

Amara is an African name that may symbolize unity, mutual connection, harmony, and the strength of community. In some African traditions, it is also associated with grace, kindness, and blessing. The painting captures a tender encounter between a girl and a giraffe in a moment of mutual trust. The harmony of colors and shared patterns symbolizes purity, friendship, and a deep connection between humanity and nature. From the Golden Africa series.

The brilliant blossoms of the Engelmann's Prickly Pear (Opuntia engelmannii) are a reminder that the Sonoran Desert is a place of remarkable abundance, not scarcity. Emerging from a cactus protected by spines, these radiant flowers celebrate nature's ability to reward resilience with extraordinary beauty. Together they reveal a landscape rich in life, color, and quiet generosity, inviting us to look beyond first impressions and discover the treasures that flourish in even the harshest environments.

Acrylic painting

This 60 x 80 cm abstract acrylic painting on stretched canvas captures the dynamic play of sunshine on the surface of water. With detailing and shimmering highlights, the composition evokes the ever-changing movement of light as it dances across the water’s surface, creating a sense of energy, and natural beauty. The initial stages of this artwork were created using the plastic wrap technique whereby crinkled plastic film is impressed into watery acrylic paint. This then suggested this subject to me and the process was repeated several times with different blue/green hues to produce a complex background. The various shapes formed were then emphasised using acrylic markers and the reflected white pattern of the sunlight painted.

The fluid shape suggests a playful character. Although the stroke stops, the momentum continues, creating an intriguing view. The spirit hidden inside is as vibrant as life itself, appearing vividly alive through the spatial expression.

Digital Print

This is an abstract digital artwork with a warm, vibrant color palette. The image features a strong horizontal emphasis, created by numerous thin, parallel lines that span across the canvas. These lines vary in thickness and intensity, some appearing as sharp, bright streaks of light, while others are softer and more diffused.

Wheel-thrown and hand-built porcelain, fired to cone 5 then luster fired with gold luster.

Emphatically Black is a fusion of industrial design and sculptural form. The matte black dome-like porcelain sculpture is punctuated by gold accents and elements like a pressure gauge and coiled tubing, that hint at a story beneath the surface. It’s eclectic and eccentric. It honors the nuts-and-bolts traditions of both hard work and whimsy. Everyday objects are transformed, blurring the line between function and fantasy. An industrial/retro futuristic aesthetic.

Sacred Geometry – Entering the Circle of Divine Awareness The circle is the ancient symbol of eternity — without beginning, without end. It represents divine perfection, a protective boundary, and a gateway to the infinite. Through meditation and imagination, we may enter this sacred space and experience our cosmic connection with the Divine. At the center stands the equilateral triangle — a symbol of the three-dimensional world and the equal presence of body, mind, and soul. In Christian tradition, it reflects the Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three aspects, one essence. Pointing upward, the triangle becomes a sign of ascension, of masculine energy, of fire — the force that transforms and uplifts. This artwork is a light mandala — a visual prayer for balance, awakening, and the unity that shines through all sacred forms.
