Gold has held a special place in human culture for thousands of years. It has been associated with wealth, power, faith, achievement, and the light of the sun. Across different periods and societies, gold has appeared in religious objects, royal regalia, architecture, painting, and decorative arts. Gold attracts attention immediately, which is why it continues to fascinate artists and audiences today. This exhibition is dedicated to the many ways gold can be interpreted through contemporary art.
We welcome artwork in any medium where gold plays a significant role in the composition, atmosphere, or subject matter. Gold may appear as a dominant color, a material, a symbol, or a conceptual starting point. Representational, abstract, traditional, and experimental approaches are all welcome. The connection to the theme should be clear, while leaving room for personal interpretation and artistic freedom.
